Creating and Modifying Charts in Excel
For your next assignment, you will be going through a Microsoft online tutorial using Excel. Students usually are able to make a basic chart using Excel-but we are going to learn more.
Go to http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/training/default.aspx
1. Select the Excel 2007 training course.
2. Go to task #2 “Creating Charts in Excel”
3. Watch the entire overview by clicking ‘next’ on the bottom right corner of each screen. You can use headphones to hear the audio of the tutorial.
4. Once you are finished with the Overview, you will get to a page that says “Practice” Click on ‘Practice in Excel’ This will open both an Excel workbook sheet and a help screen that will tell you exactly what to do.
5. You will need to take the quiz to get to the next part of the tutorial, next complete the quiz.
6. You will be taken through another set of directions and again, you will get to a screen, that says ‘Practice in Excel’ –click it.(Your excel practice sheet will open back up with the directions.
Once you get to the step that says “Exercise 8: Add your chart to a PowerPoint presentation”
7. Scroll down to the bottom of the directions and click “return to course” (you don’t have to do the powerpoint part)
8. At this point, you should save your excel document you created into you Tech folder as practice1.xlsx
If you would like, you could print off these directions.

Task #4
Exploring google
Google is really a great search engine but there is probably more features on google that you have never used. Spend about 20-30 minutes exploring the features google has to offer.
Ideas; advanced searches, maps, igoogle, news, etc.
Blog Prompt;
What did you learn about google that you didn't know before. Explain!!
Task # 4 Part 2
After reading your blog entries about what is Web 2.0, most of you don't know what it is. You have an assignment;
You will be creating a Power point project over the next few days with the following topic, What is Web 2.0 and present on what it entails.
Questions to be answered;
1. What is Web 2.0 (History, present, future)
2. What are the diffences between Web 1.0 and Web 2.0?
3. What types of websites would be considered Web 2.0?
a. Choose 4 websites that would be considered Web 2.0 and describe them in detail. (What they are, how they are used etc)
4. You must include a proper bibliograpy.
5. Your Power point must be professional looking.
In your presentation
-animations on each slide
-transistions on each slide
-pictures/images on each slide
-at least one video that is linked or embedded
-automatically timed and transitioned.
-appropriate music at the beginning, end or throughout slide show.
Assignment is worth 70 points. No minimum or maximum number of slides, you will be presenting.
